Lynn Evans is a Republican State Senator representing Iowa’s 3rd Senate District, which includes Buena Vista, Osceola, and O’Brien counties, along with parts of Cherokee and Clay counties. A lifelong Iowan and proven public servant, Evans is known for his principled leadership, dedication to education, and unwavering commitment to the conservative values that define rural Iowa.
Evans was one of the first legislators in the state to endorse President Donald J. Trump, standing with the President early and without hesitation.
His support for the America First agenda has never wavered – grounded in the belief that Iowa needs bold, unapologetic leaders who will stand up to the radical left and fight for our freedoms.
With over 30 years of experience in public education, Evans has served as a teacher, coach, principal, and school superintendent. Today, he continues to invest in Iowa’s future as an adjunct professor at Buena Vista University, where he helps shape the next generation of students and educators.
He holds an Ed.S. and M.A. from Drake University and a bachelor’s degree from Westmar College. Evans is also deeply involved in his community – serving as past vice president of Hartley Economic Development, a longtime past member and officer of the Hartley Lions Club, a founding board member of the Alta-Aurelia Community Education Foundation, and as vice president of the Alta Kiwanis Club.
In the Iowa Senate, Evans has consistently championed landowner property rights, limited government, individual liberty, and local control. Now, he’s taking the fight for true conservative leadership to Des Moines to ensure that the voices of rural Iowans are not only heard but respected.
Raised in Aurelia, Lynn currently lives in his hometown of Aurelia with his wife, Midge.
